Philip Morris announced that it would come up with a new type of “cigarette” that would be a cross between an e-cigarette and a normal (analogue) cigarette.

This “heat-not-burn” device is now being promoted on the Canadian market, for the time being through demonstrations in a number of tobacco outlets.

It is a device in which a kind of small sized cigarette is put and with which the tobacco is driven up to 300 degrees. So no tobacco is burned. According to the manufacturer, this would result in 90 to 95% fewer harmful substances being released than with a normal cigarette, where tobacco is burned at 800-900 degrees.

It is therefore explicitly not an electronic cigarette in which liquid is evaporated!

How does it work?

The system consists of a number of components, namely the “heat stick”, or the actual tobacco, a holder (“holder”) that heats the tobacco, and a charger or “pocket charger” in which the holder is stored and charged.

You can smoke a cigarette by removing the holder from the charger, placing a heat stick in the holder and activating the holder.
