WHEN TO REPLACE THE RESISTANCE OF MY CLEAROMIZER?

Vaping with a new resistance while the cotton is still immaculate, what happiness! The flavours remain unchanged, perfectly perceptible! The taste of your liquid is pronounced, puff after puff, without ever fading… at least the first few days! Indeed, over time, the resistance wears out and the cotton struggles to faithfully restore the flavours which lose slightly in intensity. But then, how do you know when to change the resistance of your electronic cigarette?

THE RESISTANCE OF AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE IS NOT ETERNAL!

The resistance of your clearomiser and more generally of your electronic cigarette is made of organic cotton and a resistive metal wire. It is moreover, most often, kanthal or nichrome. If these components are particularly robust and resistant, their lifespan is not eternal because they are continuously heated at high temperatures. This is all the more the case with cotton, a more delicate vegetable fibre which tends to degrade more or less quickly. The use of liquids containing a significant percentage of aromas can also accelerate the ageing of the resistance which will clog up more quickly. As you will have understood, a resistor is a consumable which must therefore be replaced regularly.

THE CLUES THAT SHOW THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO CHANGE THE RESISTANCE

Several small annoyances encountered during the use of your vape should put you on alert. The first signal is the change in taste of your liquid. If it loses intensity, or even worse, it is accompanied by a parasitic burnt flavour, then it is time to change the resistance of your electronic cigarette. Another proof that your resistance is at the end of its life is its inability to vaporize liquids correctly, you notice it if your vape produces less vapour or if it leaks! Finally, your resistance must be changed when you notice that its value in ohm varies.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP MY RESISTANCE?

It is estimated, approximately, that the life of resistance is about 2 weeks. This can vary depending on the material used, some vapers accustomed to rebuildable keep their coils for several weeks and just have to change the cotton. It is data which is based on an average observed during the use of several electronic cigarettes. If you don’t vape too hard, respect the recommended power range, and use a liquid with a suitable PGVG level, the resistance can last longer.
